Cooking Ahead

As we get ready to have this baby, I would like to try to cook some meals ahead to put in the freezer.  So, I'm looking for some suggestions.  I would love to get some recipes that your kids like that can be made ahead and frozen!

Also, I'm sure after the baby comes and we are not having meals brought to the house anymore and the freezer meal are gone, I am sure that I will be wanting to make some easy things for dinner.  I would love some crock pot recipes - again, recipes your kids like!!

Send recipes to my email hswinigan@gmail.com

Thanks!!

Okay...I've got a good crockpot "Chicken Stew" type recipe (no official name, as I made it up one day;)

1/2 chicken or whole
1 bag baby carrots
3 or 4 stalks of celery, cut up
1 or 2 cans of chicken broth
salt & pepper
-put everything in crockpot and cook for 6 to 8 hrs.

Take the chicken & everything out, strain the broth for small bones, etc...in a seperate pan make a rue, *(I just melt 1/2 stick of butter, once it's melted add 4 or 5tbs. of flour(slowly))*. Then add the chicken broth bring to a boil, let simmer until it thickens into gravy..... Sorry, I could have just said make chicken gravy, but since I had never made "real" gravy in my life I had to call my mom for some help! LOL!

cook 1/2 bag or 3/4 bag of egg noodles...

Put chicken, veggies, & gravy over noodles.

This was a fluke recipe...I tried to make chicken noodle soup one day, but had only put in 1 small can of chicken broth & OBVIOUSLY(for those who know how to cook) that's not enough for soup broth...hence the "Chicken Stew" recipe. It's really easy & Donnie seems to like it as well!

Totally unrelated, but on the Bachelor (don't judge me for watching it), there's a girl from Morton. Just FYI.
