Ooooh, cold ideas... I need some of those around here too!! Especially for days like today when we're honestly stuck in the house because of the roads.
A couple of times last year we brought snow into the house to play with because it was too cold outside. (http://morrisonsinmichigan.blogspot.com/2007/02/snow-day.html)
The kids loved that.
Also, I just try to bring out the toys we don't normally play with... the kids' play tent, instruments, train tracks, etc.
