Silver Dollar City World Fest

We are almost done with My Father's World Exploring Countries and Cultures (technically we could be done by now, but we are going to do one big ocean unit to finish our our world geography study).  The girls really enjoyed learning about the continents, a number of countries on those continents, and the various people groups living in those countries.  What better way to end our study than with a visit to Silver Dollar City during their World Fest Celebration?

My parents came with us . . . which always helps with keeping track of the kids!  Friday was a nasty dreary day - it literally rained the ENTIRE day.  We were hoping to get to SDC as soon as we arrived in Branson, but as hard as it was raining, we had to wait.  The girls were dying to go by Saturday morning.  It was lightly raining but we decided to head out anyway.  It basically rained off and on all morning - and it was pretty chilly, but we made the best of it.  We did whatever we could inside - and did a couple of rides once it stopped raining.

The Argentina Show

A favorite of the girls - the elephants!

Island of Fire

Kevin and my dad braved the old barn swing.  They tried to get Norah to go, but she wasn't interested.

This was definitely a great way to end our great study of world countries and cultures!  I would highly recommend it!  Silver Dollar City is such a clean, family-friendly amusement park!

My parents left on Sunday morning - they have a much longer drive than we do.   We headed back to Silver Dollar City for a few more hours of fun!

We can't wait to come back!  Yay for season tickets!

We really enjoyed going to SDC with your family. They girls behaved perfectly and didn't even complain about the rain or cold. Thanks for including us!
