To my dismay. . .

Lucy has somehow forgotten the story of baby Jesus. I don't know how this is possible. We usually spend the whole month of December talking and reading about the Christmas story. She has heard it at church and at home and at grandmas' and grandpas' houses. We tend to joke (not to her face) that she can be a little. . .ummm. . .flighty. Honestly, I don't get it. She knows Jesus death and resurrection and believes that Jesus came to save her from her sin - but somehow she can't seem to remember His birth.

Here is her version:
The baby in the nativity set is Moses. His mother is Sarah and his earthly father is Pa (we have been reading Little House on the Prairie). He was born on her birthday - and certainly not in a stable!

Wow. We have a lot of work to do!!

That is great! :) If it makes you feel any better Lily still calls baby Jesus in our manger set baby Moses. She knows it is Jesus, but for some reason calls him Moses. :) Lucy cracks me up!

This is funny. I like how she added, "and certainly not in a stable."
Micah thinks the story of David & Goliath is really about them playing baseball. He says Goliath gets a free base because David hit him in the head with the ball.

Reminds me of Jack Henry--I was over there the end of Oct.--Nicole, JH, & I were at Hobby Lobby walking down the Christmas aisles, JH's eyes HUGE. At one point, Nicole asked him why we have Christmas; he quickly answered "Santa!" Then she said, "Yes, Santa is fun, but what is Christmas really about--who was born on Christmas?" To which he excitedly shouted, "Baby Santa!" Nicole & I couldn't help it--we totally cracked up! After a quick reminder about Jesus, it all seemed to come back to him! Then we had fun finding lots of Baby Jesuses in the aisle w/ the nativities!!
